I know it might sound a little weird but we celebrated Earth day. Why not? Its school vacation and I thought it might be nice to teach my kids about something I really like...our Earth. Thanks to my crunchy granola hippie side (there are many sides of me) I decided that it would be good to take the kids on a litter pick up bike ride. We all got gloves on and grabbed a bag to take with us, then with baby in stroller and kids on bikes we took a stroll around the neighborhood and filled the bags with all kinds of trash. Travis was amazed at what a mess it was and the people actually throw their cups, snack bags and many other weird things on the ground instead of in the trash or recycle bin.
It only took us an hour and we even stopped at the playground. Just imagine if everyone went around their neighborhood and picked up for just an hour, how much cleanier the Earth would be. Ok, I know this posting is really starting to sound like a blogg, Ill stop now.

- From opposite sides of the country we met in Utah at USU. We were married in the Washington D.C. temple on 9-9-99. We then moved to California for 18 months, then to Southern Maine. Our first son, Travis came in 2001. Our first daughter Tia came in 2003. Our Second Daughter, Sofie came in 2008 and our little man Sebastian came in 2009.

I LOVE your hippy side! (and many other sides of you, too). It gets along swimmingly with my hippy side, which is quite prominent.
